Q. What sports does SYAA offer?

A. Youth baseball, softball and T-ball.

Q. What equipment does my player need?

A. Fielding Glove, bat, helmet, tennis shoes. Optional equipment: infield facemask (softball), batting gloves, baseball/softball pants (any color/style), cleats.

Q. What color shirt will my player have?

A. We will not know shirt colors until the last minute. If you are looking to match pant colors, we recommend black pants as they go with anything and wash easily!

Q. How far will I have to travel for games and practices?

A. T-ball - all games and practices will be held at Doerr Field. 8U - practices at Doerr Field, games typically in Sandusky, Peck and Deckerville. 10U-14U - we expect travel time to be 30-45 minutes for games.

Q. When do games and practices start?

A. TBD. 10U & 12U will likely start practices mid-April with games starting early May. T-ball & 8U typically start practices early May with games starting mid-May. 14U typically start practices in early June with games starting mid-June.

Q. Can I coach or help coach?

A. Absolutely! Our organization is run completely by volunteers including our coaches. Please register as a volunteer, consent to a background check and we will contact you if/when coaches are needed.

Q. How are teams determined?

A. Coaches draft teams during a coaches meeting. T-ball teams are divided by age and gender to ensure equality.
